The Middle East is a region where vehicle is king and fuel is low-cost, often leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly methods of moving.

But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have actually risen the price of oil, the concern of discovering alternative sources of fuel has actually come into sharp focus.

In a region that has one of the highest carbon footprints on the planet, one business is benefiting from the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first scheme to oil into biodiesel. It's proving lucrative too, already their client-list consists of McDonald's.
